The former residence of the Emperor until 1868. The palace buildings are grand, and the surrounding park (Kyoto Gyoen) is a massive green space open to the public.

The gravel paths in the park are cyclable.

Kyoto Imperial Palace Park visitors' bicycle parking

In front of the rest area, there are two bicycle parking spots. The entrance to the Imperial Palace is nearby.

Kyoto Gyoen Nakadachiuri Parking Lot (bicycles)

The bicycle parking spot is located across from the public toilets, tucked behind a short hedge. It is part of the Nakadachiuri Car Parking Lot and not far from the entrance to the Imperial Palace.
