Higashi Hongan-ji Temple

Where to park bicycle

Bicycle parking is on the left side of the main gate. You can park here for free.

Established in 1602 to weaken a powerful Buddhist sect, this religious site is the head temple of the Otani-ha branch of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism. Its current structures, rebuilt in 1895 after several fires, include significant halls and a mausoleum for Shinran, the sect's founder.

You will most likely walk here from the main train station, but if you prefer cycling, parking is available.
