Overview

Established in 1602 to weaken a powerful Buddhist sect, this religious site is the head temple of the Otani-ha branch of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism. Its current structures, rebuilt in 1895 after several fires, include significant halls and a mausoleum for Shinran, the sect's founder.

You will most likely walk here from the main train station, but if you prefer cycling, parking is available.

Where to park bicycle

Bicycle parking is on the left side of the main gate. You can park here for free.
